James Alban was born in Jefferson County, Ohio in 1809.
An early settler, he was both a lawyer and a judge. He served in the Wisconsin state senate in 1852-1853.
He was a colonel in the 18th Regiment Wisconsin Voluntary Infantry
James Alban was married in Columbia County, Wisconsin on December 24, 1851.
At age 51, Colonel James Alban died at the battle of Pittsburg Landing in April 1862. His remains were bought to Plover, WI, and he was buried there on April 28, 1862.
