Background:

The 1901 Plat Map of Berlin Twp shows a post office and store at the corner of the present Hwy. F and Mitchell Ln. Anton Emmerich was the postmaster and presumably the owner of the store. As of 2005, Emmerich Family Farms occupies the land originally occupied by the settlement.
