Background:

Mc Kinley was the first name of the area now called Johnson in the SW 1/4 Sec. 12 in Easton Twp. The 1901 plat map shows Peter Johnson's store in the SW 1/4 ofSection 12. Today, this area along Eau Claire River Rd., about a mile north of Hwy. Z, shows only farms.
