Background:
The son of Andrew and Louise (Sterr) Bachhuber, Frank Bachhuber was born at the family’s home farm in Farmersville, Dodge County, Wisconsin on November 17, 1884.He graduated from the Mayville High School in 1902, Marquette University in 1907, and the American Institute of Banking in 1912.He was employed as a special attorney for the Marshall and Ilsley Bank of Milwaukee from 1902 to 1922.
Accomplishments:
Mr. Bachhuber moved to Wausau in 1922 and practiced law for many years. He served as police and fire commissioner, was a director and secretary of the Franklin Building & Loan Association, a director and secretary of the Wausau Mortgage Company, and vice president of the Marathon County Bank. He was elected to the Wisconsin state assembly in 1932. He was president of the Wausau Taxpayers League, a director of the Wausau Community Chest, and a local instructor in banking for the American Institute of Banking. He was a member of the Marathon County Bar Association, the Wisconsin State Bar Association, and the Sixteenth Judicial Circuit Bar Association.
Frank Bachhuber was united in marriage in Juneau, WI on July 3, 1912 to Miss Mabel Foley from Dodge County, WI. Together they were blessed with four children. Mr. Bachhuber was a member of the Kiwanis Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Loyal Order of Moose, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Knights of Columbus and the Catholic Knights of Wisconsin.
Frank Bachhuber died at Mt. View Sanitarium in Wausau, WI on February 28, 1939. He is buried in Mayville, WI.
