History Speaks: Guided Tours of the Farm Museum in Marathon Park

The Marathon County Historical Society will present “Guided Tours of the Farm Museum in Marathon Park,” another topic in its History Speaks series, at 2 pm Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the I.S. Horgen Farm Museum in the Exhibition Building in Marathon Park, Wausau. Curator Randy Block will share stories as we tour this museum.

The farm museum in Marathon Park was established by Ingwal Horgen and Norman Block, grandfather to current curator Randy Block. The museum is important because of the deep impact of agriculture – in history and still today – on the vitality of Marathon County. On June 25, Randy Block will discuss the museum’s story and the major artifacts. The rest of the tour is self-guided. Visitors will be encouraged to ask questions along the way.

Fans of the History Speaks series should take note that this installment will take place at the farm museum in Marathon Park, and NOT at the Woodson History Center as is usual. To join the tour, meet at the east side of the Exhibition Building in Marathon Park, the entrance to the I.S. Horgen Farm Museum.

There is no admission fee; however, donations are appreciated. Registration is not required.

The Historical Society is grateful to Janke Book Store and to Compass Properties for their sponsorship of the History Speaks series.
