The Marathon County Historical Society will present “The Fromms: Ginseng and Fox Farming” as its next History Speaks topic at 2 pm Saturday, April 22, 2017, at the Woodson History Center, 410 McIndoe St., Wausau.
The program will trace the rise and fall of the Fromm Brothers’ empire, built on their trademark bright silver fox fur. From the origins of their farm in Hamburg, through their successes and failures; learn how the Fromms influenced the fur and fashion industries of the early 20th century and became one of the iconic success stories of Marathon County.
There is no admission fee; however, donations are appreciated. Registration is not required.
The Historical Society is grateful to Janke Book Store and to Compass Properties for their sponsorship of the History Speaks series.
